Why Study Electrical And Electronics Engineering

Why Study Electrical And Electronics Engineering?

India loses 30-45% of the energy it generates during transmission and distribution. Are you up for the challenge of improving the efficiency of the system?

The reach of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in today’s world is practically limitless. This multifaceted discipline has seen tremendous growth in technological innovations in the last few decades. It has become a crucial part of every industry and has drastically revolutionised the modern life

Electrical and Electronics Engineering is composed of a wide variety of sub-disciplines that you can choose as you advance through your education and career. Specialisation such as Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution, Microcontrollers, Electrical Machine Design, Analog Electronic Systems, Control Systems and Advanced Control Theories, Instrumentation and Power Electronics are sought after in the world today. Unlike the situation a few years ago, electrical engineers now work in various settings including offices, industrial plants, start-ups, and research labs.

There is great demand for electrical engineers with sound fundamental understanding of the subjects, and the capability to apply this knowledge to solving today’s global power crises. Today, electrical engineers are expected to address a variety of key power-related challenges faced by rural and urban India alike. There is growing interest for innovations in the following fields across the world.

Efficient lighting and buildings

Low power device and circuits

Smart power distribution grids

Clean energy technology

Efficient power storage device

Medical imaging and data processing

If this interests you, then you should definitely consider a career in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and a Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from MVJ Polytechnic College.

What To Expect From Diploma In Electrical And Electronics Engineering

What To Expect From Diploma In Electrical And Electronics Engineering

Only 69% of all homes in India have access to electricity even today. Can your innovation help light up more homes?

Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) is a three year full-time programme. The course comprises of a number of theoretical as well as laboratory subjects evenly distributed across six semesters. Students are also expected to take up and complete a full-fledged project in their final semester. To be awarded the Diploma, a minimum average of 35% is to be maintained across all semesters.

For a Diploma and a successful career in EEE, you’d need a strong foundation in mathematics and physics. This helps you in grasping numerous principles of analysis, application, design, development and testing of systems and devices that fuel the modern day life. Each specialization in this field demands hands-on experimental work, which is based on theoretical and mathematical understanding and logical deduction. The aim is to addresses the growing demands for innovation and design of efficient and intelligent systems in day-to-day life.

Electrical engineering is multidisciplinary in nature. Your Diploma course in EEE starts with the fundamental topics of electricity, Electrical circuits, electromagnetism, and solid state electronics. This is followed by more intensive and comprehensive courses and laboratories in the areas of modern electrical engineering. These courses include power and energy systems, integrated circuits, control systems, telecommunication, and signal processing.

If you develop an interest and nurture a curiosity in these subjects, you will find this branch of engineering challenging, yet rewarding.
